Why should a student attend one of these events? It is a mountain bike event designed to get you on a bike. It is perfect for a fun or first mountain biking experience. It is not about results or winning, it is about doing the challenge. The Limerick event has both individual events as well as an optional team event and skills challenge.
Mountain biking is a great way to have fun, great for mental health and getting exercise. This is an activity that can last a lifetime. Sure, some of the event is a competition, but it is not about results or winning, it is about doing the challenge. There is a skills challenge which is easy and fun for all to do and the fastest rider does not win! The Limerick Forest trails north of Prescott are beginner friendly yet fun for all. More than once, a student has done 'the Challenge' - and they weren't even 5 years old yet! For many high school students this is their first time on a mountain bike in the woods. One participant went on to the Olympics. So you can see how this event is for everyone. Your school does not need to be involved to attend. Teachers can expose their students to this healthy and active lifestyle by sharing the YouTube video with the class. To participate you’ll don’t need a fancy bike. We even had a unicycle compete one year! Riders can separate and negotiate the course at their own pace. The course is designed to be safe for newbies, and fun to shred at speed. There is also a separate trail that people can ride all day. Come try the challenge! Hope to see you out, it’s going to be a great day! Any questions? Please ask!
